Tools I used:
- Non-stick grill pan – I can grill just about anything ON THE STOVETOP using this grill non-stick pan. That means, I can grill anytime of the year. Also as an added plus, it is so easy to clean as there is hardly any scrubbing needed if you immediately clean it after cooking.
Tip: To prevent from burning on the grill, soak the bamboo skewers with water for at least 20 minutes. Shrimp are completely cooked when they turn red.
Ingredient:
- 1 ½ lb large shrimp – peeled and deveined
- 10-15 bamboo skewers – soak with water for at least 20 minutes
- Olive oil to grill
Marinade Sauce
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 1 lemon
- 4 cloves garlic – minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper powder
Basting Sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- ½ tablespoon ketchup
Direction:

- Cut the lemon into half and squeeze the juice into a bowl.
- Then, add honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and set aside about 1 tablespoon of the marinade sauce – this is to be combined with the basting sauce ingredients.
Basting Sauce
- Mix 1 tablespoon of marinade sauce, honey, dark soy sauce, and ketchup. Give it a good stir. Set aside.
Cook & Serve
- In a large mixing bowl, place the deveined shrimps and pour the marinade sauce. Set aside and let it marinade in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
- Pre-heat the grill and spray/brush some olive oil to your grill.
- In meantime, tread about 4-5 shrimps onto the bamboo skewers (depending on the length of the skewers).
- Once the grill is heated, brush each side of the shrimp skewers with the basting sauce before placing them on the grill.
- When it’s about half-done, baste the skewers with the sauce once again on each side.
- Grill each side for 3-5 minutes or until the shrimps turn red.
- Serve and enjoy!
