Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips

This banana and chocolate chip bread is one of my favorite bread recipes. Whenever I have some extra ripe bananas, I always make the bananas into a good use.  This banana bread with chocolate chips is very easy to make. Moreover, this particular banana bread recipe is so hard to mess up. It always come out great, moist, tasty and super delicious. The chocolate chips is a great addition to the banana bread and it gives an extra ‘kick’ as each tiny chips will just melt in your mouth.

The key to the moist bread, in this recipe, is using ripe bananas, the ones that already have brown spots on its skin. Also, by using 4 ripe bananas, the bread has the natural banana sweetness, so you do not need to use lots of sugar. Give it a try, will you?

Tip: To check if the bread is completely done, you can use a skewer. Insert the skewer to the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. Also, for the recipe below, you can add more sugar if you like it sweeter.

Ingredients:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F. Also, brush off some butter onto the surface of a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, using a fork, mash the ripe bananas until all are completely mashed.
  • Add the melted butter, flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, vanilla extract and beaten egg. Then, mix them all until there are hardly any lumpy batter.
  • Separate chocolate chips into two portions. Add in some into the batter and set aside the other portion.
  • Pour the batter into the buttered loaf pan.
  • Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips onto the top of the batter in a loaf pan.
  • Bake for 50 minutes to one hour at 350F. Or use a skewer to check if the bread is done. Insert the skewer to the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Once it is done, remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes prior to serving. Enjoy!
